Linked Data Technologies and Their Applications workshop (TLDE 2011)

Web of Linked Data is an initiative that aims to facilitate access to data, their publication and reuse through the Web and building applications around those types of data. One of the biggest differences in Web of Linked Data regarding the nowadays known Web is that, instead of realizing the navigation through documents, it’s done through linked data. Any data is improvable to be exposed and reused, for example, multimedia, data from sensors, databases, etc. The utility of linked data will be greater, the more interconnected with other data of Web of Linked Data.

There is no doubt that the generation and use of this amount of linked data from heterogeneous sources will create new research and business opportunities. We face many challenges that justify the organization of a space where for the first time, researchers from various areas of Artificial Intelligence and professional from local, regional and national Companies and Public Administration could identify open research problems, challenges and opportunities in the applicability of these technologies. This workshop intends to increase not only the presence of researchers and of Spanish companies results in this domain, but also the linked data volume in Spanish and other official state languages.

PlanetData partner, Óscar Corcho (UPM), co-organises the TLDE 2011. The workshop will be co-located with the 14th Conference of the Spanish Association for Artificial Intelligence (CAEPIA 2011) will be held in Tenerife, San Cristóbal de La Laguna, Spain, from the 8th to the 11th November, 2011. It is organized by the Grupo de Computación Inteligente of the University of La Laguna.
